Our Technology

We go beyond the basics to assess your vision and overall eye health.

Advanced Technology for Exceptional Eye Care

At Pezzimenti Nixon Optometrists, every patient receives a thorough eye health assessment using our state-of-the-art technology.

Whether it’s your first visit or a routine check-up, our advanced diagnostic equipment enables us to get an in-depth, accurate understanding of your vision and ocular health.

At a minimum, every patient is tested on:

Our Tech

Our technology includes:

Autorefraction

We use autorefraction to assess nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. To ensure the most comfortable prescription, we also manually check each patient’s optical status for accuracy.

Biomicroscopy

Biomicroscopy allows us to examine the external structures of your eyes, including the tear glands, helping us evaluate eye surface health and lubrication. Using specialised magnifiers we can also view the optic nerve and retina in detail.

DNEye Scanner from Rodenstock

The DNEye Scanner captures a biometric image of your eyes, which we use to customise your spectacle lenses for maximum comfort and precision, tailored to your lifestyle.

Ophthalmoscopy

This technology enables us to assess the internal structures of the eyes, aiding in early detection of conditions affecting your retina and optic nerve.

Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)

OCT uses light waves to take detailed cross-section images of your retina, allowing us to detect early signs of retinal conditions or damage.

Corneal Topography

Corneal topography maps the surface curvature of your cornea, helping us assess and manage conditions like keratoconus and prepare for certain types of contact lens fittings.

Photo Imaging

This technology enables us to assess the internal structures of the eyes, aiding in early detection of conditions affecting your retina and optic nerve.

Visual Field Testing

This type of test helps us diagnose possible neurological disorders or glaucoma by measuring the range and sensitivity of your peripheral vision.

Colourimeter

A colourimeter is a specialised device that assesses visual stress and helps determine customised tinted lenses to improve reading comfort and reduce eye strain.
